Mr. Hellerich obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Nebraska in 1969. He graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Law and obtained his J.D. Degree in 1973. He is presently a member of the Colorado State Bar Association, Nebraska State Bar Association, the Weld County Bar Association, and the Wyoming State Bar Association. Mr. Hellerich is the past president of the Weld County Bar Association and served on the Board of Governors for the Colorado State Bar Association. He is presently a member of the Real Estate Section, Probate and Trust Section, and Business Law Section of the Colorado State Bar Association and is a member of the Northern Colorado Estate Planning Counsel. Mr. Hellerich is also a Past Director for the Greeley Chamber of Commerce and sat on the Board of the Greeley Center for Independence. His present areas of practice are: estate planning, wills, all forms of trusts, trusts and probate, estate administration, estate litigation, power of attorney, medical power of attorney, guardianship and conservatorships, real estate and zoning, and business and corporate law including formation of new business entities, corporations, limited liability companies and all forms of partnerships. He is a guest speaker for radio shows, seminars and lectures on estate planning and has prepared sophisticated estate planning for multi-million dollar estates. He has extensive experience in complex business, contract and probate litigation.

Mr. Hughes obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 1972, and obtained his Master of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 1975. In 1983 he graduated from the Whittier School College of Law in Los Angeles, California and obtained his Juris Doctorate degree. He is a present member of the Weld County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and is Past President of the Kiwanis Club of the Rockies.

Ms. Scroggins graduated from Colorado State University with a B.A. in History with High Distinction, Phi Beta Kappa. She graduated from C.U. Law School in May 1983 and was admitted to the Colorado Bar in October 1983. She served two years as the municipal judge of a Northern Colorado town. Her practice has been a general civil practice with an emphasis in family law, wills and trusts, partnerships and small corporations. Ms. Scroggins took a hiatus from the practice of law for four years, but worked in the area of Worker's Compensation during that time primarily involved in negotiating and approving settlements. Ms. Scroggins joined the firm of Brega & Winters P.C. in November of 1998 and has a general civil practice emphasizing family law, personal injury.

Mr. Winters is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law. Mr. Winters served on the Executive Committee of the Tax Section and is a member of the Board of Governors of the Colorado State Bar Association. He is a past member of the Trust and Estate Counsel and is a present member of its Estate Planning – Orange Book Forms Committee, and its Uniform Trust Act Committee. Mr. Winters is a past member of the 19 ^th Judicial Nominating Committee, and is a present member of the Northern Colorado Estate Planning Counsel. He is a past President of the Weld County Bar Association and a current Director of Northern Colorado Water Conservatory District. Mr. Winters’ primary areas of practice involve estate planning, wills, trusts, estate and gift taxes, general durable powers of attorney, medical durable powers of attorney, living wills, probate, estate administration, and ancillary probate. He has established estate plans for clients with assets in the multimillion dollar range and has handled extremely complex probate manners. Mr. Winters lectures on estate planning, wills, trusts, and probate. In addition, he concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate, corporate, general partnerships, family limited partnerships, limited liability companies, contracts, and other areas of business law. He has handled Farmers’ Home Administration and Farm Service Agency loans for over 20 years and presently represents several banks and other financial institutions. Mr. Winters has an AV rating in the Martindale Hubbel Law Directory and is listed in Martindale Hubbel’s Preeminent Attorneys of America.

Mr. Laue graduated form Colorado State University in 1984 and from the University of Nebraska School of Law in 1987. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Weld County Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association, having served on its Young Lawyers’ Executive Counsel. Mr. Laue has practiced mainly in the areas of corporate and business law, municipal law, real estate and employment manners, as well as estate planning, landlord/tenant issues and civil litigation.

Experience in Business, Real Estate, and Municipal Law

Mr. Laue has represented numerous financial institutions, corporations and a number of municipalities. He was instrumental in handling the legal work involved in the replacement of a municipal client’s entire water system, an endeavor requiring monetary commitment by the municipality of nearly $3 million. He has also represented numerous corporate and real estate clients in the purchase and sale of business and commercial property.

Mr. Laue lectures extensively on business law, estate planning, mechanic's liens and contractor/subcontractor law, and employment matters.  He represents, along with the firm, hundreds of contractors, subcontractors, and small and large businesses running the gambit from machine shops to plumbing and heating companies.  Mr. Laue also advises those small, medium, and large business clients on employment matters on a day-to-day basis from the employer's side only.
